Spotlight: Dwayne Wade

In honor of DWade recently getting a statue

Legendary! Not too many players in sports, let along basketball, can say they have a statue, but Dwyane Wade can. Having a whole county nicknamed after him during his tenure with the Miami Heat (Wade County) he inspired many and I proudly state that I modeled my game after him coming up. He was an all-around Guard who could score 50 and lock up on the defensive end. From winning an NBA Finals his third year in the league while averaging 35 points per game in the series to leading the Olympic team in scoring off the bench after coming back from shoulder and knee surgery, D Wade left his imprint on the sport of basketball. Saying he is the third best Shooting Guard to ever play in the NBA is not a backhand complement because he still is top 10 all time in the sport in my book. He played the position with tenacity and did more than hold his own; playing bigger than his 6’4” frame, he would oftentimes be among the league leaders in blocks and dunks. Finishing his career with 3 rings D Wade is also a class act off of the court. Salute.
