Spotlight: Trae Young
Just thought I would highlight one of my favorite players who often goes under the radar and is not as heralded as he deserves to be, Trae Young. Yes, some of us actually prefer being underdogs and operating with a chip on our shoulder, but there is nothing wrong with acknowledgement and respect where it’s due. After being overlooked by Team USA and being rarely mentioned in the light he deserves, I have decided to give him his flowers while he can smell them.
From putting up big time numbers night in and night out, silencing crowds in the process, all while making others better; there’s no way he should not be a bigger draw than he is. Oftentimes when you do something at a high level for so long people begin to somewhat get used to it, which I think is the case here. I would like to see better pieces put around him so he can get the title shot I think he can push for, even though I am reminded of his 2020-21 playoff run that lead the Atlanta Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals only to be bumped out by the would be Champions, The Milwaukee Bucks.
Ice Trae has been nothing short of amazing ever since stepping foot in the NBA and I’m excited to see what else he has in store.
