Top 10 All-Time NBA Players
To begin, I wanted to state some of the criteria and reasoning for the players I have selected and the order in which they are selected in. These players are proven winners with the stats and accolades to match. I also only selected the players who played in the era where I got to watch them play on a night in, night out basis. I began watching basketball at age 8 in the year 2003 so that’s as far back as I will go with one exception. In my eyes there is one nonnegotiable player regardless of era to place on my list and it probably is not a surprise who it is. Not to say other players before this time were not good enough or worthy, I just have to go with the ones I have had the chance to witness in real time. With that being said, here is my list of Top 10 NBA Players:
10. Giannis Antetokoumpo
Giannis starts the list off as the best player to ever come from Greece. Very efficient and relentless, he has developed into a great player right in front of our eyes.
9. Kevin Durant
A player who can put the ball in the basket against anyone effortlessly, KD, is someone that by the time he retires has the chance to be ranked even higher on my list.
8. Nikola Jokic
The best international player to make the list, Joker, as he is called by his peers, is one of the best all-around basketball players to ever lace them up regardless of position.
7. Dwayne Wade
An underrated player who on both ends always made his presence felt on the court, D Wade earned his spot on my top 10. He is well deserving of the statue he just received.
6. Tim Duncan
Keeping the underrated trend going, Tim Duncan AKA The Big Fundamental, is a proven winner who despite being unflashy was known for always getting the job done.
5. Stephen Curry
Single-handedly changing the game while setting many 3 point records; Chef Curry is no stranger to winning championships. Not to go unmentioned, he is also the only unanimous MVP in league history.
4. Shaquille O’Neal
Earning the title of The Most Dominant Big Man in the league during his reign, Shaq, was virtually unstoppable in the paint.
3. Michael Jordan
Regarded by many as the “GOAT”, Jordan, undeniably deserves to be on anybody’s list regardless of era as we still feel the impact he left on the game to this day. Accomplishing a 3 Peat, who knows how many he would have won in a row if he didn’t opt to go play baseball at the height of his NBA career.
2. Kobe Bryant
I have witnessed Kobe score a barrage of points and defy the odds stacked against him on numerous occasions. One of his best performances is an 81 point game against the Toronto Raptors. That performance goes down as probably the best scoring performance Post Wilt Chamberlain. Not only was he a scoring machine, he also would take the assignment of locking down the opposing team’s best player.
1.LeBron James
The Number 1 spot goes to LeBron James. Displaying amazing durability and consistently great play to match, LBJ, has come into the league and exceeded every expectation placed on him at a very young age. Imagine the weight of the world being on your shoulders at the age of 18 and 22 years later still being at the top of your game. At this point there may not be another record for him to chase, as he has created new milestones to reach like 40,000 points and playing alongside his son.
